Wink… Now Friendster Fortified!

Friendster

We’ve been busy building out the people search engine here at Wink. So we’re happy to have added Friendster to the engine. Friendster has more than 37 million unique profiles and is coming on strong with tremendous features to make the social network experience that much more fun. Some of these features include Friend, Bookmark, and Group subscriptions. One of the things that I appreciate about Friendster is that they encourage their users to use real names and identities. It’s not a requirement but it helps those trying to find real connections. This is something that is very important to us at Wink.

Our version of people search is about helping people find old friends, new friends, and new communities through communities; and Friendster’s 37+ million users worldwide will help Wink users do just that. By adding Friendster the Wink search engine now has more than 150 million people for you to find. So keep using it, check out Friendster, and find your community.

I’m excited about the new People Search, but a little disappointed as development on this seems to be occurring at the cost of the web search - which is what I really want Wink for.

David, we hear you. We are still behind web search and are working on deploying new technology. We will have web search always available. Can’t say much more than that at the moment. But stay tuned.

    We’ll keep you posted.
