Social Search Panel @ WebGuild

Hey, it’s Beach here… (first post)

There will be a panel discussion about social search tomorrow night (Sept. 20, 2006) at the Silicon Valley WebGuild event. It will be held at the Google campus.

It should be a lively discussion. I’m not sure there is a clear definition of “social search” yet. Some people think it’s social bookmarking and tagging and stop there. Others, like Wink, extend the thinking to algorithmic search results based on community input and feedback.

Joshua Schachter (del.icio.us), Kevin Rose (Digg), Garrett Camp (StumbleUpon), and our own Michael Tanne will be on the panel.
Anyone can come and there will be onsite registration.

6 p.m. - Reception
7 p.m. to 9:30 pm - Presentation
Google inc.

Don’t miss it!
