David Beach Joins Wink
The rumors are flying, and yes they are true! David Beach is joining Wink. Scott Beale posted it the other day Welcome Beach! We’re excited to have him join us as Director Product Management. Beach is coming over from Yahoo! Shopping where he was for 5 years.
Beach has been innovating on the Web since the beginning. He was Art Director of Internet Underground Music Archive (IUMA). In 1995 Beach co-founded LVL Interactive which was responsible for some of the earliest breakthrough Websites such as i-STORM, Burning Man and EggHead. The last 5 years have been at Yahoo! Shopping where Beach headed up social commerce applications.
We are so psyched to have Beach join us. Welcome aboard!

Thats great. This helps add to your reputation. The site speaks for itself, but hiring known talent allows others to know, “These guys are serious…They aren’t just pretending.”
What about hiring a few of us users to help you maintain search quality? I love tagging sites and filtering spam. We could do a lot more with a little incentive. Say $0.02 per tagged site, $0.01 for each filtered site.
Just a thought. I used to be a Site Reviewer for StudyWeb, before they were acquired by LightSpan (then they let the entire dept. go at once).
