Some Wink Updates
We’ve received lots of great feedback from our users. Thanks so much for taking an interest. Some of the recommendations were things we were already dying to do, and many were really great ideas we’ve taken to heart.
A bunch of users came to our last Wink user group meet-up on Nov 9. (We try to hold meet-ups every month - check out www.wink.com/Wink:usergroup for details.). Some of the things discussed were:
* the use of tags and bookmarks
* collections of tags as being like “smart playlists” in iTunes - since the links included in collections are derived automatically by inheritance if tags are added
* how people use search and what they expect in terms of finding out what other people think.
In response to the input we have made a number of updates to the site in the past few weeks:
* updated home page layout to show current links and featured collections
* changed the icon for adding favorites from a “tag” to a “star” since that’s what people seem to get best
* renamed “search sets” as “collections”
* included “Do you mean…” spell checking in search results
* improved the image upload to automatically scale and crop images for collections
* collapsed “My Search Guide” and “My Page” into one
Hope you like it. Please use the site, and send us your feedback. More cool stuff coming soon.
Cheers,
Michael
